Hello fellow race fans!!
I updated the Sprint Cup drivers address list! (finally) Sorry it's taken forever.  Life has been busy here in North Carolina! There's lots of race shops to visit!  Among other things :)  I'll share some pictures!
Picture
I now live less than half an hour from RCR.  I've been there a handful of times and man that sure is a NICE shop! here's a picture of them working on Kevin's Martinsville car (white) and I think maybe Texas?  They also have a brand new NNS shop that's top notch.  When you go and visit there you get to walk right onto the floor where they're working on the cars!! It sure is an awesome experience.  Everyone at RCR is super nice. I made them cookies last week :)

Picture
Stewart-Haas also has a really nice shop and gift store lol.  They have a big window where you can watch them working on all the cars.  You can also watch in the machine area where they're makin' parts! It's really great. I can't wait to go down and visit it again. I found the shop by chance. They have it listed as an "attraction" on a roadside sign haha.  It's totally worth a stop if you're in the area!

Picture
Last Saturday I went to the truck race at Martinsville!!! Now, having only ever seen PIR in person, Martinsville was a big surprise.  I knew it was small, but I didn't figure it'd be THAT small.  I couldn't even believe it.  I was seriously in awe.  It's such an awesome track! There was so much action in the race I didn't know where to look.  Trucks were layin' on each other in the corners.  The picture above is one I took of Kevin leading the pack!!  If you wanna see great racing, don't miss a truck series race.  Those guys are fearless!!
North Carolina has been amazing so far. I'm bummed that I wasted so much of my life in AZ but I know that I will be here forever!  I've made some good friends (in part, thanks to twitter) and it's so nice being around fellow NASCAR fans.  Not to mention being close to all the shops!
In closing, let me shout out to an awesome team - Turner Motorsports.  These guys have a top notch shop, great teams, drivers, and staff.  And above all they have an amazing vision!  They're headed to the top...and you can remember that ya heard it from me!
I'm out.  Thanks y'all!

Hey everyone!! How's it going?  I'm alive and well and in North Carolina :)  Life here is awesome.  It's so great to be around other NASCAR fans and just a bunch of nice people.
I was able to visit KHI on the last day that it was open to the public.  It was bitter sweet for sure.  I had waited all those years to go there but it just wasn't the exciting place I imagined.  Yeah yeah I know it's for the best lol. I just don't wanna let it go.  I've also been to RCR twice and man, that is a freakin' nice place.  I wish the NNS and truck shops were open to the public, but hey, I'll take what I can get.
I still don't have internet ...I'm tethering from my phone and it's horribly slow.  Once silly season is over I'll have an updated address list and will start sending out for goodies!!!
I hope everyone had an awesome holiday season!

Onto THE CHASE :D 09/12/2011

So the chase field is set :)  I'm bummed that it's missing other RCR cars, specifically the 33.  Watching Clint's post race interview just broke my heart!   All of this contract talk and him leaving RCR talk really has me down.  I really like Clint and I'll be super bummed if he's not Kevin's teammate for years to come.
BUT....I can't stay bummed for long...The good ol' two niner was in victory lane last for the 4th time this season!!  And he's currently first seed in the chase, tied with the nutso in the 18.

Looks like Carl was a little sideways comin' across the finish line, hmm?   I missed the live race action on Saturday because I went up north to see Easton Corbin!!  The show was outdoors in the middle of the woods and man it was coooold.   I caught the replay, AND!  Great news.  My Sirius is randomly back on!!! I don't know why, or for how long, but I'm going to enjoy every  minute of riding in my car from now on :)

Richmond was a great race....as was Atlanta.  There is a lot of good momentum heading into the chase.  I really don't think ol' 5 time has it in him this year, but he's a pro sandbagger, so we'll see.  I'm glad both Jr and Keselowski made the chase.   Jr, for ratings sake, and Brad, cause I felt he really deserves it!   Also glad Tony made it...I don't know how many  more angry Tony

I had all but forgotten, but I sent out a Colin Braun a loooong time ago.
Picture
Nice little surprise!!  I also picked up some AMAZING things at Hobby Lobby.   These are my Christmas presents that my mom is supposed to pay me for...we'll see if that ever happens.   The most amazing thing is that they were all 50% off!!  It's a merry Christmas to me!  I couldn't get a decent picture of the clock because of glare on the glass so I stole the one from the website.  The outside part is like a brushed metal  and it's kinda deep looking and yeah it's awesome.
Picture
This is a little...plaque thingie is super cute.  It's also metal and it has a brushed/distressed look to it that doesn't come through too well in the picture.
Picture
Last but not least is my favorite of the 3....It's a little over a foot long I'd say..a little hook thingie!!!  I plan on hanging a hat or two and my credential holders on it when I get moved :)  Until then it will be packed away.
Picture
And a little shout out to my best friendie.  *hugs via blog*
Have a good night everyone!

Hey guys :) How has everyone been?   I apologize for not being around much. Soooo much has been going on!  I have my moving truck booked and I'm heading to NC on November 16th!   I don't even know who cares any more because it's going to happen and it's going to be awesome!!   My original plan was to visit all the shops and stuff before I start working, but I will be there the week of Thanksgiving so I'm guessing most of them will be closed, but I guess I will see :)  More details to come :)

Well it's sure been an eventful few weeks in the NASCAR world!  I think the biggest being freakin' MENARD WINNING THE BRICKYARD 400! Hell yeah :)  That was a great race.  Such an awesome win for RCR!!!
Picture
(Photo by Tom Pennington/Getty Images for NASCAR...currently my picture on Facebook because it's so super cool haha.)

2 members of the 42 team were fired/suspended for drug trafficking?  (Insert Colombian drug lord pun here.)  Ridiculous.  These guys have jobs that sooo many guys would kill for and yet the blow if over something so stupid.  I have very little respect for stupid people like that.

My twitter exploded yesterday with news of Joe Gibbs Racing switching over to TRD engines next year.  I could really care less hahah.  They're still going to tune them and do whatever magical magic they do to them and they will still probably  be the best Toyota team.  (I love my husband Truex Jr. and MWR though, but I'm just sayin'.)

Is it just me or does it seem like Brad Keselowski is a little less of a brat with every passing day?  I'm becoming a fan of this kid.  And his cute little American flag victory business helps too.  Congrats to Brad for winning at Pocono on a busted up ankle.  Did you guys see that picture he tweeted?  Gross.  (Photo by Tom Pennington/Getty Images)

Let's go road racing!!!   I know a lot of people aren't a big fan of the road courses, but I am.  I love seeing the card hop the corners.  Like this for example :)

Terry Labonte will attempt to make his 875th NASCAR Sprint Cup Series start at The Glen this weekend.  Hol-eeee crap that's a lot of starts hahah.  Good luck to Mr. Labonte!!

The ol' twoniner was pretty fast in practice! He rolls off 38th for quals, which are scheduled to start at 11:40ish eastern time.  I will be sleeping but I will follow along on twitter once I'm coherent :)

OH!  And can we pllllleaseeeee have some more drama with Jimmie and Kurt?   They're both racing in the NNS race and I am excited.   And for the record it looked like JJ came down on Ears, but hey, what do I know.

Well I hope everyone has a great weekend!!!  Get ready for some right turns, baby!  (Harharhar)

Roger Curtis, MIS president, posts open letter to fans: 07/11/2011

What should have been a shining moment for the sport of NASCAR and all the racetracks, especially those in the Midwest, has sadly, potentially, put all of us back several steps – maybe even years.
A sellout NASCAR race at Kentucky Speedway should have signaled the continuation of great things for race fans in the Midwest and for our sport.
Unfortunately Saturday' night's events became an exercise in blame and unpreparedness – and race fans, corporate partners, media and drivers were caught in the middle.
As a track promoter I am saddened and embarrassed about what happened this weekend. To think all the hard work that we've done here at Michigan International Speedway and other tracks have done could be so quickly erased by Saturday's events. That speedway, having been open for racing since 2000, should have known the challenges it would face when it tripled in size.
Just to be clear: This isn't about kicking a race track when it's down. We all make mistakes and MIS has certainly had past issues with traffic.
And it isn't about trying to sway a Kentucky Speedway ticketholder to come to Michigan – though we will be happy to treat them the way they should be treated should they want to give us a chance.
It's about apologizing and doing what's right when you are clearly in the wrong. It is about having your priorities right in the first place – on the fan experience.
That's why I'm upset.
It is bad enough the racetrack went into the weekend knowing traffic was going to be worse than they had previously had with other series. But to think Bruton Smith made light of it with the media, and then pointed the finger at the State of Kentucky when posed with traffic questions is unfathomable.
We work tirelessly with our legislators and local officials to ensure traffic moves efficiently and safely. We collaborate with local communities, our state, public safety officials and first-responders to ensure an event at Michigan International Speedway is a true public-private partnership; and not a business threatening to hold its region hostage to meet our demands.
It appears the mentality at some other racetracks today is to see how much money they can make off a fan. Their line of thinking is to ban coolers, have fire sales on last-minute tickets, build, build, build without thinking, thinking, thinking, and blame others for their mistakes.
Don't get me wrong: We are not perfect. But we listen to our fans, we recognize our shortcomings and we try to overcome them so race fans don't feel the burden. Most importantly, we learn from them so those mistakes don't happen again.
Michigan International Speedway is sincere when we say we want to do things for our fans to grow our business. That's why we lowered ticket prices for all our loyal fans, why we launched a Fan Appreciation program, why we have a Fan Advisory Board, why we allow larger coolers in the grandstands, why parking is always free and plenty, why we have invested more than $60 million in our facility the past four years, why we continue to work with the State of Michigan, the Michigan Department of Transportation, the Michigan State Police to manage race-day traffic and why we have real race fans give a Fans' Trophy to the winning driver in Victory Lane.
We try really hard to educate our fans on traffic and our facility, have a system of feedback and information sharing with all our guests, and we listen to our guests about changes we need to make to grow our business. Fans are our bottom line.
On behalf of the MIS staff, I apologize to all the race fans whose expectations were not met this weekend, but also to those who read all the stories and were taken back by the treatment other people received.
That is not how we do business at our racetrack – and it's certainly not indicative of how every track operates. I hope fans recognize this and realize the vast majority in this great sport (not just tracks, but NASCAR officials, drivers and owners, as well) are working hard for the fans and do have their priorities right.
We do not take our guests for granted and we pledge to do everything we can every day to make your experience at MIS the best it can be.
We won't undercut our loyal customers with a knee-jerk ticket offer to make up for what happened on Saturday. But we will match what our loyal customers received by offering any race fan who has not had their expectations met at any racetrack with our lowest ticket price of the season for seats in Turns 1 and 3. Send us your race ticket and you can purchase a reserved ticket for $45 for the August 21 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series Pure Michigan 400 at Michigan International Speedway.

My thoughts on the Quaker State 400 07/11/2011

Hey friends.  How has everyone been?
Well as you already know, the inaugural race at Kentucky Speedway was somewhat of a debacle.  While tons of people complain about the quality of the racing, I have to agree with Kenny Wallace on this one...on his twitter a few days ago he said "There is no boring race...".  While obviously some are more intense than others, I've never been so bored with a race that I've turned it off or even close.  Especially not in this age.  You can follow along on twitter and be right there in the action.  Even if there's no tight pack racing or battles, there's always something going on somewhere.
As for the parking/traffic situation...I hope people don't look to blame the sport for the issues.  Everyone is pointing fingers and saying "Yeah, well the track had 11 years to figure it out..."  Well, that's partially true, but if you've never physically dealt with something before, how can you be 100% sure of how it's going to work.  Yeah, they did some stupid stuff, like not having it be all lanes coming in, and just the shoulder going out and stuff like PIR has it.  The only time I've ever been stuck in any sort of race track was last November at PIR when we didn't leave until after 8 am.  Granted we were only half an hour away from the track, the trip took about 2 because the incoming roads were a parking lot.  It was not my choice to leave so late, but I was dealing with a grumpy, rude, baby of an ex boyfriend who wasn't adult enough to wake up early.  I should have told him to find his own ride there, but you know what they say, hindsight is 20/20.   Anyways, all other times I've been to the track, whether the race starts at 1pm or 6pm, I leave EARLY.   Pick up some BK on the way, walk around the merch trailers, get tickets for autograph signings, find a great parking spot, and most of all NO traffic.  Shoot, even if you have to get up at 5am and kill a few hours before the gates open...wouldn't you rather be able to park close and get in rather than be stuck on the road?
Now what I do find totally unacceptable is the fact that they "ran out" of parking and were turning people away.   I can't think of any reason to turn away a ticket holder to an event...especially since you have no idea how far that person came to be there!   I feel really bad for the people who were turned away, even if they didn't leave early enough to not get stuck in traffic.  And THIS GUY, while possibly being a little too harsh, does have a very good point.

The retribution?  If anyone missed the race, they can exchange their ticket for one to any of the SMI tracks remaining races this year (New Hampshire, Bristol, Atlanta, Texas, Charlotte, and of course,  next year at Kentucky.)  They're also offering a free ticket to either the trucks, or Indy races at Kentucky.  I can see how rescheduling can be really tough, especially for those who work and used vacation time and such.  However I believe they're doing the best they can to make things right.

Aside from it's inaugural issues, Kentucky Speedway is a beautiful facility.  I'm glad that they have been given a cup race and I hope they can keep it for years to come!

The 3rd class for the NASCAR Hall of Fame was announced today!   Congradulations to Cale Yarborough, Darrell Waltrip, Richie Evans, Glen Wood and Dale Inman.  Their induction ceremony will be the weekend of January 20th at the hall in Charlotte.  (Hey, maybe I can be see it in person!)  Congrats to the class of 2012!

While I was MIA, Richard Childress had Mr. Busch in a headlock, probation is over for the 29 & 18, and Kevin made it very clear that things are not over between them.  "He knows he's got one coming..." says Kevin.  This is awesome for more than one reason.  RATINGS!  And of course you know how much I like racing drama.  Nothin' better!!
OH! And don't forget the 18 team got docked 6 owners & 6 drivers points along with Dave Rogers being fined $25,000 for the car being out of spec after last weeks race at Pocono.  OOPS!

Junior Nation!   I know he has lost some heart breakers the last few weeks, but in reality you guys should be smiling from ear to ear.  Dale Jr. has been running SO well this year.  I know he has one coming!!  Even being a Harvick fan, it was sad to see him run out of gas at Charlotte.

Speaking of that.  KEVIN HARVICK WON THE COCA-FREAKING-COLA 600!  It's impossible for me to not have a giant smile on my face as I type that.

NASCAR takes a trip back to my home as they head to Michigan International Speedway this weekend.   This two mile D-shaped oval was opened October 13, 1968 and has a capacity of 108,000...I hope to see a ton of full seats!!

I hope you all have a great week! Thanks for reading and keeping up with me even though I'm not around much.  I swear it's only temporary!   Long live the drama and long live great racing!! :)

Just a reminder I will not be sending out any hero card requests until I get moved and settled and also the jewelery shop is currently closed but I can still take requests for later this summer.  Thank you for your understanding!!

Sorry I've been MIA lately.  Everything in life has kinda taken a back seat to yard sales, packing, sorting, saving...blahblahblah.  It's annoying now, but once I cross over into the NC border for good it'll all be worth it :D
I'm not sending out any hero card requests until I get there because some of them take months to get back and I don't want any getting lost in the mail.  I'm sure they'll get there much faster once I move anyhow hahah.  Also no bracelet orders can be taken until later this summer because my craft stuff is packed away!
Well Darlington sure was interesting!  I'm sure you all saw it already...and if you know me at all you know that Kevin Harvick can do no wrong in my eyes.  Him having issues (again) with Kyle make me sad cause last year I was coming around to liking him.  Then the crap at homestead went down and now this.   It hurts my heart! Hahaha.
I do have one question though...So the 18 team said Kyle lost his reverse and that's why he rammed the 29 in to the pit wall.  I watched the video like 10 times....SECONDS before it happens they're both reversing, (and after listening to Kevin's scanner audio, the reason he's backing up is 'cause he passed the entrance to the garage) and other than that, they drove a few feet & then stopped....soooo....I'll be the first to admit that I don't know anything about cars.  But how could he lose a gear from driving a few feet then stopping?  Wouldn't it be more likely that he lost it when he punched it and pushed Kevin's car outta the way?  The way I see it is that the 18 team saw that as their out. Their way to be like ok THIS is why it happened, so they didn't have to say it really happened 'cause Kyle was too chicken to get outta the car.
Another thing I found interesting is that if you watch the video (I just searched Harvick Busch Darlington and it was the first thing that came up) it is SUPER clear to me that Kevin threw his punch, or whatever it was that he did, AFTER Kyle's car started moving, NOT BEFORE.

Anyhow. That's my take on things.  Lots of good racing the last few weeks, and of course I love the NASCAR drama.

Sorry if I'm not around much.  Got a lot going on.  We'll be back in full force once I'm out in racing country :)   I'll leave you with this funny picture of Kevin tossing a water bottle lol .

'Dega wrap up and the great NASCAR fast of 2011. 04/20/2011

Hey everyone!!  What did you think about race weekend at Talladega?  I enjoyed the heck out of it!  It's hard to believe we're already 8 races into the season.  Time flies!!   I thought the racing was great through out the day.  Like I've mentioned before, I love the 2x2 racing (speed dating hahah) as it makes for a lot of excitement and drama on the track.  (Photo by Tom Pennington/Getty Images for NASCAR)

Picture
When the race first started I was a little bit scared about Kevin drafting with the 36. Then by the closing laps I kinda felt sorry for him especially when he got wrecked.  Sorry all those kids didn't get to eat free!  Kevin asked "Do they have Budweiser at Golden Corral?"  Hahah.  But don't get me wrong, I was glad he found his team mate in the 33.  You could imagine my excitement when the restart was RCR 1-2-3-4  :)  (Photo credit: Associated Press)

The race on Sunday tied 2 Sprint Cup Series records.  Number of lead changes (88) and margin of victory (.002).  The stat I liked the best was that there were 159 passes for the lead all around the track.  (88 is just counting who crosses the start/finish.)  159!  Dang.  So whoever says this doesn't make for exciting racing, well buddy I beg to differ haha.
Picture
The only thing I disliked about The Aarons 499 was the winner.  Sorry Jimmie.  I don't like that he's now 2nd in points.  I'm so over the 48 it's not even funny.  But, to all the people saying he should have been penalized for the double yellow rule, nah.  He didn't advance his position.  And trust me, I want him to be penalized just as much as the next guy.  It'd be super rad if Clint would have won! But the "NASCAR is fixed for JJ" conspirators will say what they want.  (I'm not gonna lie, I find the term "the fix for six" incredibly entertaining.)  (Photo credit: Associated Press)
And also for personal reasons, I will be doing the late, great, NASCAR fast of 2011.  From Thursday night until Monday morning I won't be watching, reading, researching online, wearing etc. anyting that has to do wit racing.  Yes I know it's sorta cheating because it's an off weekend for cup but trust me, Sirius  128 is on anytime I step in the car and I can spend hours looking at all the race tracks on Google Earth, among other things.  Yes, I still LOVE NASCAR and it means very much to me.  Well I hope everyone has a great off week. I will be busy sorting and packing for our yard sale and move.  I'll be the first to say I can't wait to get out of Arizona.  The only thing I will miss is my hockey team!  But it will at least be easier to leave now that it's off season.  Have a great week everyone :)
